They may have a hole on the side to allow any extra fluid to flow out. However, if you don't drain the oil from the the drain hose and what your pump tube can't reach, it isn't much different than the old timers who used to change their oil and change the oil filter every other time. Dposcorp, I'd say the best way to do it would be to have a nice little drain plug on the bottom of the pan to cleanly and quickly drain it before removing the pan. Oh, and not only that, we save 3. I really like the idea of pumping it out, But I have no pump. Beside the heavy stuff accumulating on the bottom of the pan, while replacing conductor plate, I noticed that top of valve body had big accumulation of dirt and speed sensor magnets were holding some steel shavings. But I guess I'm not doing it right. When exactly did this start? Anyway, mine was designed for the OLD fluid. Far more than one ounce of thought went into this. Just like the old saying goes, it's the simple things in life.
